It was...I look at the trends slightly differently. <BR/><BR/>It was not so long ago that the Republicans enjoyed a significant electoral advantage over the Democrats. Failure to deliver on promises to core conservatives as well as some poorly executed foreign adventures seemed to have soured the voting public.<BR/><BR/>Looking forward, I am certain that the Dems have learned from the Republicans misadventures and will continue to support their core. This means more populist BS going forward. <BR/><BR/>Aside: I read a news story from the Detroit Free Press today that compared the firing of GMs Rick Wagoner with killing the witness to a crime and then saying the crime was solved. Mr. Wagoner had nothing to do with CBOs and credit default swaps - but populist dogma requires a scapegoat. Enter Mr. Wagoner.<BR/><BR/>Bottom line: if the Dems can keep their core active and excited AND not do anything stupid overseas then they should be able to hold power for a number of years.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
