Answer to the trivia question in the previous post:
The two major-party nominees who had been union presidents were Ronald Reagan (Screen Actors Guild) and Jack Kemp (American Football League Players Association). Both, of course, Republicans. Reagan, however, had been a Democrat at the time he headed SAG.
